Description

It was dark.

The skies parted, the ground gave way, and all light dissipated. The loud, booming voice echoed in Shamsiel's eardrums, and it would not leave his mind. He was falling down, free falling from Heaven. Heaven was no longer peaceful, it was a bloody battlefield. His lungs were dry and gasping for oxygen, but he felt at peace, catapulting down to Earth from his previous home in the clouds. The burning in his lungs intensified, and he decided to look down. He knew he would hit the ocean, and he would hit it hard. Everything seemed to be going in slow-motion, his legs flailing and his wings trying to find a way to support his body weight. Shamsiel closed his eyes and decided to stay calm, for he was finally free from his own idea of Hell.

His back crashed into the large Atlantic Ocean, and he plummeted underwater. Shamsiel rose and gasped for his breath, grateful for the now unlimited oxygen supply. He could breathe, but he was now feeling new sensations that he hadn't before. Pain, hunger, thirst, longing. He needed water and food, but at the same time he could barely move.

The stallion wondered where his brothers and sisters landed, but at the same time he couldn't care less. He began moving his legs and tried to find solid ground under the salty, murky water. He spotted trees and a vast desert-like area, what humans called the "shore." He finally reached it and shook his entire body to rid himself of the itchiness of the water. He took a deep breath and examined his surroundings. He needed food and fresh water, so he knew he had to move.

He began to trot along the shore, searching for a source of fresh water. He seemed to be in a rain forest, it was humid and there were monkeys as well as brightly coloured tropical birds. Shamsiel was very intelligent, God had taught him many things about Earth, so he had an idea of what was going on when Heaven finally gave way. The buckskin stud began to fly over the rainforest, searching for any type of fresh water.

Shamsiel heard a faint sound of rushing water, and followed the sound. He found the source of the sound, and it was indeed a magnificent waterfall. He drank for what seemed like hours. A whinny in the distance caught his attention, and he neared toward it. It got closer and closer, until he saw another horse. Quite a few horses, actually.

It was all of his brothers and sisters.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

This took me So so so long. SO long.
